This 1950s dress is tailored to a short-sleeve, tea-dress style with a full, swirling skirt and has some unusual design details. The fabric is a striking cornflower blue manmade organza with flocked polka-dots and florals which add a raised 3D texture. The short-sleeves are finished with epaulettes and fabric-covered buttons. The neckline forms a V-shape from ruched cloth and an overlapping flap finished with a chunky off-white plastic button engraved with a flower. There is a coordinating cloth-covered belt to further cinch the waist and it fastens to the side with a zip hidden beneath a placket. Its quite sheer so you could wear over a pale slip or just with beautiful underwear if you dare.
This whimsical dress is in excellent vintage condition, with no flaws of any note. A well-made manufactured piece but unlabelled; removed at some point we suspect due to the label showing through. Approximately a size UK 10-12, US 6-8, but please double-check the measurements below.
